What Does This Mean?
[ FORUM CULTURE ][ ATTENTION ECONOMY ]
A post that discusses the community itself — its rules, culture, moderation, or direction — rather than engaging with the community's usual subject matter.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"That meta post about the subreddit's new rules got way more engagement than any regular content this week."
LORE & ORIGIN
Standard forum and Reddit terminology borrowing the general "meta" prefix (referring to something about itself), used to categorize posts specifically about community governance and culture rather than on-topic content.
