Splog Meaning?
3.9BRAINROT SCORESplog A spam blog: a blog, often filled with scraped or automatically generated text, created to promote other sites, boost their search ranking or earn from ads and sold links.
Origin:Splog is a blend of spam and blog. The word became widely known in mid-August 2005 when investor Mark Cuban used it publicly and defined a splog as any blog whose creator adds no written value; it had already been used a few times to describe spam blogs, and the earliest use is not documented. The phenomenon grew out of link blogs aimed at influencing search engines and attempts to Google-bomb large numbers of words, and it grew with free blog hosting services that let anyone open a blog in minutes. Splogs usually copy text from other sites or generate it, carry many links to affiliated pages or ads, and were most discussed in the mid-2000s. Hosting services added verification steps and flagging tools in response, and the idea carries on in the vocabulary of content farms and made-for-advertising sites.
