TMI Korean usage of the English abbreviation "too much information": unnecessary, overly detailed or personal information that nobody asked for. In Korea it is used as a reaction to oversharing, as in "TMI네", and also playfully by people who post trivial facts about themselves, for example under a hashtag about useless information.

Origin:From English "too much information". Kyunghyang Shinmun (2017-10-20) says the term became widely used in Korea relatively recently, after a "TMI collection" post in August 2017 listing personal details about public figures, and describes it as usually negative but also a playful social media game; commentators in the article link it to information overload and constant connectivity.
