What Is Automoderator?
4.0BRAINROT SCOREAutoModerator Reddit's automated moderation tool that applies rules written by subreddit moderators to remove, flag, approve or reply to posts and comments.
Origin:AutoModerator began as a bot written by Reddit moderator Deimorz; a January 31, 2012 Daily Dot article reports it was already used in more than 54 subreddits shortly after release, initially to approve posts the spam filter had wrongly caught. A community wiki timeline (seen only in a search-result summary) says Deimorz later became a Reddit employee and it became a built-in moderation tool. This is the full name of the tool the existing 'automod' entry describes in general (that entry focuses on Discord and Twitch); AutoModerator is the Reddit-specific original and users often call it 'automod' or 'AutoMod'.
