What Is I Hate Gay Halloween?
6.0BRAINROT SCOREI Hate Gay Halloween A yearly joke format on X and TikTok in which LGBTQ+ users post very niche, mostly pop-culture costumes using a set template that opens with a joke line about hating gay Halloween. The humour lies in costumes that mainly other queer, very-online viewers will recognise; supporters treat it as a form of queer in-joke humour.
Origin:NBC News reported on October 28, 2024 that the phrase had gained traction in recent years, citing a 2022 post on X as one early reference, with costumes drawn from films, music and viral moments. PinkNews described the trend spreading in 2023 and returning in 2024. It has resurfaced each late October since, including in 2026.
