REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"The camera held on his face for ten seconds and someone just commented "Absolute cinema.""
LORE & ORIGIN
The photo is a real editorial image from a January 2020 New York Times interview, unrelated to any film franchise. The joke's roots trace back to Scorsese's October 2019 comments comparing Marvel films to theme parks; the "Absolute Cinema" caption itself was popularized by X user @_lalaxyz in March 2023, with a major viral variant later spread by @hayasaka_aryan around September 2023.
