REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"He put on headphones and pulled up an ASMR video of someone tapping on glass bottles to help him fall asleep."
LORE & ORIGIN
Coined as "Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response" by Jennifer Allen, a U.S. cybersecurity professional, in February 2010, in a Facebook group she created to give a name to a tingling-relaxation sensation people had informally discussed in online forums since around 2007. The term and content genre later exploded on YouTube.
