What Does 'Chud' Mean?

Brainrot Score: 4.0OBSERVED
[ IMAGEBOARD CULTURE ][ GEN Z BRAINROT ]

An internet insult for a reactionary, low-information, extremely online right-wing user — implying someone whose worldview is crude, subterranean, and disconnected from reality.

REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE

"The whole reply section was just chuds arguing with each other."

LORE & ORIGIN

Repurposed from C.H.U.D. (Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers), a 1984 horror B-movie about mutant creatures living in the sewers, into a political insult by leftist Twitter and forum users around 2018 — implying the target is similarly crude, subterranean, and out of touch. It became a widely used piece of extremely-online political vocabulary, particularly during heated 2018-2020-era online political discourse.
