What Does This Mean?

delete your account

Brainrot Score: 5.7 ⓘOBSERVED
[ SLANG ][ SOCIAL MEDIA ][ INSULT ]

A sarcastic online reply telling someone to remove their account, used to mock a post that was unwelcome, badly judged or a failed joke. It is meant as a dismissive jab, not a literal request.

REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE

""That take is so bad, delete your account.""

LORE & ORIGIN

Washingtonian and other outlets traced the phrase's wide reach to June 9, 2016, when, after President Obama endorsed Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump tweeted a jab at the endorsement and the Clinton campaign account replied with the phrase; several outlets then explained the joke to readers.
