What Does This Mean?
A humorous, informal word for a downvote, as on Reddit-style sites; it is also used as a verb ("to downdoot" a comment). It is a playful variant of "downvote", not a different mechanism.

Wiktionary lists the word as onomatopoeic, combining "down" with "doot", and notes that it exists online but could not be found in standard citation sources. No originating post, community or date is documented, so any story about who coined it should be treated as unsupported. It is best read as a jokey respelling of downvote, in the same family as the playful "doot" used for voting sounds. The ordinary term remains downvote.
