evento tuenti

Brainrot Score: 3.5 ⓘOBSERVED
[ SLANG ][ MULTILINGUAL NATIVE ]

A Tuenti event: an invitation page for a party, meeting or outing that users created on the Spanish social network and sent to friends, who could answer yes, no or maybe. Looking back, the phrase evokes how plans among Spanish teens were organized in the late 2000s and early 2010s.

REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE

"The whole class showed up because someone made an "evento tuenti" for Saturday night."

LORE & ORIGIN

Spanish Wikipedia describes Tuenti's events feature, in which users created invitations and friends replied yes, no or maybe. A WWWhatsnew article of 24 August 2011 reports that Tuenti added event notifications, citing more than half a million events created per month and about 6 million comments on them. Tuenti was the most popular Spanish social network among teens and young adults between 2009 and 2012, and its social features were removed in 2016. No dated first use of the exact phrase "evento tuenti" is documented. It differs from the existing entries on Tuenti, its wall and its photos in naming the event invitation.
