What Does This Mean?

[ SLANG ][ MULTILINGUAL NATIVE ]

Brazilian Portuguese gaming verb, mainly in League of Legends, meaning to throw a match on purpose by dying repeatedly or playing badly deliberately, so that the opponents gain kills, gold and experience. A player who does this is said to "intar" or to be "intando".

REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE

""O jungler começou a intar depois do primeiro abate", disse o jogador ao reportar a partida."

LORE & ORIGIN

From "inting", the English gaming shortening of "intentional feeding", with the Portuguese infinitive ending -ar. The Mais Esports League of Legends glossary defines it as handing the match over on purpose by dying repeatedly or playing badly deliberately, and explains the link to "inting". No dated first use is documented. Players use the verb for deliberate sabotage; accusing a teammate of it is common in matches, whether or not it is true.
