REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"It is Wednesday my dudes, and yes I will be posting the frog again."
LORE & ORIGIN
The source image is a Budgett's frog, a species known for its unusual, loud vocalizations, originally posted by Tumblr user kidpix2 in a post titled "Wednesday" on December 10, 2014, which went on to gain over 60,000 notes on the platform.
The meme found its bigger audience on Vine, where user JimmyHere posted a video on January 14 saying the phrase aloud and mimicking the frog's scream; that Vine gained over 15 million loops, 70,000 revines, and 144,000 likes, and JimmyHere reused the bit in later Vines with different costumes and setups. By March 2016, there were well over 140 Vine results for the phrase, and the format has persisted since as a recurring weekly meme tradition, resurfacing every Wednesday across successive platforms.
