What Does This Mean?
[ MEME PRODUCTION ][ ATTENTION ECONOMY ]
A meme built entirely out of references to other memes, or a meme nested inside another meme's structure, playing on the layered-dream concept from the film Inception.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"That post is memeception, it's a meme about the format of making memes about memes."
LORE & ORIGIN
Coined shortly after Inception's 2010 release as a punning label for self-referential, layered meme construction, becoming standard shorthand for meme-about-memes content.
