What Does This Mean?
Cryptocurrency slang for an enthusiast who is extremely bullish and keeps predicting that a coin's price will "go to the moon", often without much analysis; usually a mildly mocking label.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"The moonboy in the chat predicted a 100x again, this time with no explanation."
LORE & ORIGIN
Built on the older crypto phrase "to the moon", which expresses the belief that a coin's price will rise sharply, and on "mooning", a coin rising quickly. A moonboy is someone who repeatedly makes such claims. Glossaries describe the type as relentlessly optimistic regardless of fundamentals. The first documented use of the word is not recorded.
