What Does This Mean?
A TikTok lip-sync and partner-lift challenge set to Rae Sremmurd's song "No Type," in which one person hoists another upside down against their back so both faces are in frame, lip-syncing the opening bars before handing off the vocals to the upside-down partner.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"My cousin and I finally attempted the No Type challenge and almost dropped each other on the handoff."
LORE & ORIGIN
"No Type" is a song by rap duo Rae Sremmurd. The challenge built around it first appeared on TikTok in July 2021: one participant lifts a partner upside down onto their back so both faces line up with the camera, lip-syncs the song's opening line, then rotates so the upside-down partner takes over the vocals.
The format saw a resurgence between May and September 2026, with new multi-person variants racking up major view counts — a version posted by @tjtdanii on August 30, 2026 gained more than 380,000 likes within two weeks. The 2026 wave largely repeats the original 2021 choreography rather than introducing a new song, making it a revival trend rather than a brand-new challenge.
