REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
""Te dejaron owneado en la final," his friend joked after the lopsided match."
LORE & ORIGIN
"Owneado" is a Spanish adaptation of English "owned", with the participle ending "-ado". Spanish Wikipedia describes "pwned" as coming from "owned"/"own", meaning to defeat or humiliate a rival, mainly in gaming to taunt someone who has just lost, and as spreading among teenagers in the mid-2000s; the hacker sense of taking control of a system is also documented there. A Peruvian esports glossary defines "owned/pwned" as a humiliating, devastating defeat inflicted on the opposing team. Neither source lists the Spanish form "owneado", so it is attested here only through the English term it adapts. The existing entries "pwned" and "pwn" cover the English word.
