What Does This Mean?

[ SLANG ][ MULTILINGUAL NATIVE ]

French interjection « quoi » (what?) used as bait in a prank: someone who answers a muffled question with « quoi ? » gets a rhyming reply such as « feur » (coiffeur) or « quoicoubeh » in return. Also a regular tic at the end of a sentence.

REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE

"— Tu sais quoi ? — Quoi ? — Feur !"

LORE & ORIGIN

Wiktionnaire lists « quoi » as an interjection of surprise or incomprehension and, in popular speech, a sentence-final tic seeking agreement. Know Your Meme describes the « quoi ? feur » prank as an older offline joke and dates the viral « quoicoubeh » form to 5 December 2022, when the TikToker Camskolavache posted a video trying to get his teacher to say « quoi »; news coverage followed in late January 2023.
