What Does This Mean?
A premade image of a face, drawn or photographed, posted in place of words to show how the poster feels about a message or situation. The best-known drawn examples are the standardised rage faces such as Trollface and the "Y U NO" guy.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
""Nobody replied with words, just a reaction face of someone sipping tea.""
LORE & ORIGIN
Wikipedia describes rage faces as premade cartoon faces expressing rage or another simple emotion, largely attributed to 4chan's /b/ board in mid-2008 and most popular in the early 2010s; their standard, instantly recognisable expressions let people convey a reaction quickly, and they spread to Reddit, Cheezburger and 9GAG. Photographic reaction faces followed the same logic.
