What Does This Mean?
A Discord server setup in which clicking an emoji reaction on a designated message gives the member a role, and clicking again removes it.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"Grab your pronouns and game-night ping from the reaction role message in the rules channel."
LORE & ORIGIN
Reaction roles are typically set up with third-party Discord bots such as Carl-bot, which post a message and map each emoji to a role so members can self-assign roles like pings or channel access. This entry covers the same mechanism as the existing 'role-reaction' entry (the two phrases are used interchangeably and describe the same feature); the word order 'reaction role' is the more common phrasing in bot documentation and guides. The first date it appeared is not documented in the sources checked.
