What Does This Mean?

[ SLANG ][ MULTILINGUAL NATIVE ]

Brazilian Portuguese gaming chat command: "reporta!" or "reporta esse cara" is an imperative telling teammates to report a player to the game's moderation or support team, usually after cheating, abusive chat or sabotage. It is the imperative or third-person form of the gaming verb "reportar".

REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE

""Esse cara tá jogando contra o próprio time, reporta!", escreveu o jogador no chat."

LORE & ORIGIN

From the English menu word "report" adapted as the Portuguese verb "reportar"; the in-game reporting menus in Portuguese use "Denunciar" for the same action (Canaltech's League of Legends guide, 26 Nov 2020, describes the report icon and the "Denunciar" button). The short form "reporta" appears in Brazilian game chats as a call to act. Recent term; no dated source found yet. Its participle is covered by the existing "reportado" entry.
