LORE & ORIGIN

Wikipedia defines a slasher as someone who creates slash fiction, a genre that Wikipedia traces to Kirk/Spock stories in Star Trek fandom (the name comes from the slash symbol in "K/S"). Wiktionary lists the fandom sense as "one who writes slash fiction and/or supports male/male ships."
