What Does This Mean?
The process of a feed, platform or body of content filling up with mass-produced, low-quality (often AI-generated) material.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"The slopification of my video recommendations happened in about a month."
LORE & ORIGIN
A noun formed from "slop" (see the existing entry), related to the verb "slopify", which Wiktionary glosses as making something worse through AI or turning it into AI slop. It is informal and not an established dictionary headword, and the search turned up no documented date for its first use, so its first appearance is listed as unknown. It is the process-noun form of the same idea as "slop": where "slop" names the content, "slopification" names the decline of a feed or service into it, and it is often discussed alongside Cory Doctorow's "enshittification".
