What Does This Mean?
[ QUANTIFIED SOCIALITY ][ MACHINE CULTURE ]
A running count of consecutive days two Snapchat users have exchanged snaps back and forth, displayed as a visible number that quantifies the ongoing activity of a specific friendship rather than a person's overall status.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"We've had a snapstreak going for over 800 days now."
LORE & ORIGIN
Introduced by Snapchat as a gamified feature to encourage daily engagement between specific friend pairs, becoming one of the clearest examples of a platform mechanic converting an ordinary friendship into a numerically tracked, daily-maintained obligation.
