What Does This Mean?
A YouTube creator whose channel centres on telling personal or autobiographical stories, most often comedic and frequently told through simple animation or illustration with a recognisable cartoon avatar. The format borrows from vlogging: the creator's personality matters more than the animation.

LORE & ORIGIN
An Animation Studies journal article dates the emergence of YouTube storytime animation to around 2014, when creators such as sWooZie and Domics began telling life stories through animation, with more channels joining in 2016 and the style established as a full genre by 2017. It describes autobiographical, usually comedic stories, recurring avatars, creators featuring one another, and direct fan support through merchandise and Patreon.
