What Does This Mean?
Brazilian Portuguese gamer slang for a player who has lost emotional control after losses or mistakes and is playing worse because of it. It is the Portuguese adaptation of the English "tilted", built on the noun and verb tilt.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"Perdi três partidas seguidas e já estou tiltado."
LORE & ORIGIN
Tilt comes from poker, where it names the emotional frustration that makes a player decide badly after a bad hand, and spread into video games and esports; research on esports describes it as negative emotion together with a decline in performance. Brazilian players added the Portuguese participle ending -ado, giving tiltado, with the verb tiltar and the phrase "ficar tiltado" ("to get tilted"). The existing entries for tilt and tilted cover the English forms; this entry records the Portuguese form. No formal Portuguese dictionary entry was found.
