XBrainrotTHE INTERESTING WAY TO UNDERSTAND INTERNET CULTURE

What Does This Mean?

[ SLANG ][ ENGLISH DAILY ]

A blend of 'vlog' and 'Christmas': the tradition of YouTubers posting holiday-themed vlogs through December, often one per day until Christmas.

REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE

"She's starting Vlogmas on December 1st and filming every day."

LORE & ORIGIN

Ingrid Nilsen is usually credited with popularising Vlogmas through her daily holiday vlogs in December 2011 (sources differ on whether the first was December 1 or 2). One account says travel vlogger Nadine Sykora used the term in December 2010 but did not finish. Many creators now post less than daily. It is a seasonal posting tradition built on the existing vlog format.
