What Is Content Credentials?

4.6BRAINROT SCORE

Content credentials Tamper-evident metadata attached to digital content that records where it came from and how it was made or edited, based on the open C2PA standard and shown to viewers through a small "CR" pin.

Origin:The Content Authenticity Initiative was founded in November 2019 by Adobe, The New York Times and Twitter. The Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), a standards body under the Joint Development Foundation, was established on 22 February 2021 and publishes the open specification, which records origin and edit history using cryptographic signatures. Adobe first released Content Credentials in its Creative Cloud apps in late 2021. The contentcredentials.org site presents the effort, whose participants include Adobe, Microsoft, Google, Meta, OpenAI, Sony, the BBC and others. "Content Credentials" is the user-facing name for provenance data built on C2PA; see also C2PA.
