What Does This Mean?
Flooding a live chat, such as a Twitch stream chat or a Discord channel, with repeated or near-identical messages, characters, or emotes. Streamers and moderators handle it with filters, slow mode, and timeouts.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
""Chat spam took over the raid, so the mods switched on slow mode.""
LORE & ORIGIN
Moderation tool documentation treats it as a standard problem: Moobot's docs describe spam filters for repeated letters, phrases and words, a repeated-messages filter that compares similarity within a short window, and an emote filter with a per-message limit. Twitch's AutoMod launch coverage also mentions blocking emote spam and copypastas.
