What Does This Mean?
Literally "big-water theory"; a lifestyle meme of early October 2026 in which people give up milk tea, coffee and sugary drinks and carry a 1.5 to 2 litre bottle of plain water to drink in big gulps. It is a joking "philosophy" rather than a scientific theory, with captions such as "the weak drink soft drinks, the strong drink big water".
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"He swapped his milk tea for a two-litre bottle and said, "这就是大水理论.""
LORE & ORIGIN
A Yangcheng Evening News report carried by gmw.cn on 2026-10-10 says the trend recently went viral on social platforms, does not name who proposed it, calls it not a real scientific theory, and quotes a physician warning that gulping large amounts of water can be harmful. A Huxiu article of 2026-10-14 describes it as a netizen "theory" presenting a 1.5 to 2 litre bottle as cheap, healthy and social. The first post is not documented.
