What Does This Mean?
Korean slang for an extremely sociable, popular person who is at the centre of every group. 핵 (literally "nucleus", used as an intensifier meaning very or extreme) is attached to 인싸 (from English "insider"), the opposite of 아싸 ("outsider"). It is usually a compliment, sometimes envious or teasing.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"She knows everyone at the festival, a total 핵인싸."
LORE & ORIGIN
핵 (intensifier) + 인싸 (clipping of the English loanword "insider"). Kyunghyang Sports (2018-12-28) listed 핵인싸 among its 2018 new words, glossing 핵 as "big" and combining it with insider for someone who fits into groups well, and mentioning a rabbit-ear hat as a "핵인싸 템".
