What Does This Mean?
Korean internet verb meaning to collect and save images (짤) they like that they find online, usually to reuse them later in posts and chats. It is the verb form of the noun 짤줍 and appears in patterns such as 짤줍해서 (saved, and then) or 짤줍하러 (going to collect).
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"He spent the evening on "짤줍하다", filling a folder with reaction images for group chats."
LORE & ORIGIN
Formed from 짤 (a meme or reaction image, short for 짤방) plus 줍다 (to pick up) with the verb-forming suffix -하다. Korean Wikipedia dates 짤방 to late 2002 on DCinside, and Korean wiki coverage explains the name as short for 짤림 방지 (deletion prevention), images attached to posts so that off-topic posts would not be removed. The sense of picking up found images matches that history, but no source found documents when 짤줍하다 itself first appeared.
