What Does This Mean?
French label tied to the Tecktonik dance and fashion scene of the 2000s. It started as the name of a club night and is now used nostalgically or mockingly for someone who embodies that look and dance style.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"Avec ses cheveux gominés et ses bras qui bougent, c'est un vrai tecktonik killer."
LORE & ORIGIN
Wikipédia reports that in 2002 Alexandre Barouzdin and Cyril Blanc ran « Tecktonik Killer » nights at the Metropolis club in Rungis, near Paris, to promote hardstyle and jumpstyle, and that the name was a pun on plate tectonics. The trend peaked in France around 2006-2008, the brand was filed as a trademark in 2007, and Metropolis ended the nights in December 2008. Its later use as an online identity label is a recent term; no dated source found yet.
