What Does This Mean?
夢男子 (yumedanshi) is the male counterpart of 夢女子: a man who fantasises about interacting or having a romance with a character from a work, or who makes and enjoys fan creations built around that idea. It is a small group, and few people use the label for themselves.

Search-engine summaries of the pixiv encyclopedia (pixiv百科事典) describe 夢男子 as the male version of 夢女子, a minority group with few self-identified members, whose works are often filed under reader-insert (俺の嫁 or original-protagonist) fan fiction. Wikipedia (ja) on ドリーム小説 explains the dream-novel form in which the reader's own name is inserted, dating it to around 2000, but does not mention 夢男子. No coiner or first-use date is documented.
