What Does This Mean?
'Have come on pilgrimage'; the stock comment posted under an old online post whose prediction or claim has since come true, the post being called a 성지 ('holy site').
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"Under a 2014 forum post that guessed a game's release date correctly, the top comment reads '성지순례 왔습니다'."
LORE & ORIGIN
The phrase applies religious-pilgrimage language to the habit of revisiting a post that foresaw later events. Korean Wikipedia explains that a post whose prediction proves right is called a 성지 and that commenting in admiration of the author's foresight counts as 성지순례; it does not say where the term came from. A June 2018 article in a Korean Christian outlet describes commenting '성지순례 왔습니다' on later-vindicated posts as an established online pastime. Namuwiki's disambiguation page notes that such comment sections also collect joking 'prayer' comments (wishing to pass an exam or win a lottery) and that its article on 성지 treats most hits as fitted after the fact among very many predictions. The phrase is the fixed comment formula; the wider custom is covered under 성지순례. The first use of the phrase is not documented.
