A contraction of "fun/interesting story" — most often used as a question, "got any jaemyae?", asking someone to share something entertaining that happened to them.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"잼얘 있냐고 물어봤더니 바로 잼얘님선 당함."
LORE & ORIGIN
Shortened from "재밌는 얘기" ("fun/interesting talk"), spreading on Korean Twitter and Instagram from around 2022. It has a specific deflection comeback built into its own usage: when asked "잼얘 있냐?" ("got any jaemyae?"), a common reply is "잼얘님선" — roughly "you go first" — turning the request back on the asker instead of answering it. The antonym "노잼얘" (a not-fun story) is also in circulation.
