What Does This Mean?
Korean internet term for the faction of people who like mint chocolate (민트초코, shortened to 민초) in the long-running joke debate over whether it is delicious or tastes like toothpaste. The opposing side is the 반민초파 (anti-mint-choco faction). The word is playful and usually used to declare one's side in the argument.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
"A proud 민초파 always orders the mint scoop."
LORE & ORIGIN
Combines 민초 (clipping of 민트초코) with 파 ("faction, camp"), the usual Korean way of naming a side in a taste dispute. A Korean Wikipedia article on mint chocolate says it splits opinion sharply in Korea and cites a 2020 JoongAng Ilbo article titled around a "mint-choco war"; the article does not use the word 민초파 itself. The existing entry minchodan covers the related "camp" word.
