LORE & ORIGIN
Slang derived from the English word "remove" (リム), with the Japanese verb ending -る. Weblio describes it as a word for cutting ties with someone, most often removing a follower on Twitter, and notes the same word being used for deleting a mixi friend entry. Dated first use is not documented. A different method, blocking and unblocking, is covered by ブロ解.
