What Does This Mean?
Brazilian Portuguese catchphrase ("swipe up") used by creators and influencers on Instagram Stories to tell viewers to swipe up to open an attached link. It stayed in use as a recognisable influencer phrase after the feature was replaced.
REAL-WORLD EXAMPLE
""Gente, o link do sorteio está nos stories, é só arrastar pra cima!""
LORE & ORIGIN
Correio Braziliense (1 Jul 2021) reports Instagram testing link stickers for Stories while the swipe-up link was limited to accounts with more than 10,000 followers or a blue badge. Olhar Digital (21 Sep 2021) says Instagram replaced the swipe-up link with a link sticker and that the change "killed" the famous catchphrase. The phrase differs from the sibling entry on "ir de arrasta pra cima", which is a later death euphemism built on it.
